Stacy G. Cantu is the visionary founder behind Stacy G. Cantu Governance Consulting. With decades of experience in healthcare governance, Stacy is dedicated to empowering organizations through effective governance solutions. Her expertise spans leadership coaching and training, board assessments, and governance restructuring, which has helped healthcare and nonprofit organizations strengthen their governance frameworks and lead with integrity.
Stacy’s passion for driving impactful, sustainable change shines through her work, fostering strong leadership and accountability in every organization she partners with. She is committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and innovation within the organizations she serves.
Advocate for Excellence in Governance
Cantu is widely recognized for her leadership and service in governance, having dedicated her career to fostering cultures of transparency, education, and collaboration. She has served on numerous boards and committees, including the Texas Association of Society Executives (where she was chair in 2015 and recipient of the 2016 Chairman’s Award), the Austin East Community YMCA, and the YMCA of Austin Board. Appointed to the Metrocare Board of Trustees in 2021 and elected board secretary in 2025, she supports Metrocare’s mission to help individuals with developmental or mental health challenges lead meaningful lives. Her contributions have earned her national and state recognition, including Diligent’s Modern Governance Top 100, Texas Health’s Mosaic Pin, and the 2025 Ollie Jo Bozeman Governance Professional Award.
